Blog 27 - 3/29/10

Hola Peeps!

Have you ever thought about how cool it would be to be a video game tester? Sitting around all day, drinking Dr. Pepper and eating Cheetos and testing out the latest releases of all the coolest games on the market? (Maybe the Dr. Pepper and Cheetos is just MY fantasy)

Well, turns out you're not the first to think of it. In fact, a reporter (a chick!) for the Seattle Weekly News did just that a couple years back. I think what she found will actually surprise you.

So take a bit of time to read this article. It's long, but it's a good read. Wait to comment until Thursday.

Blog 26 - 3/22-10

Welcome Back!

I hope you guys had a great Spring Break. I know I did.

I think I can make the next 49 days. Hopefully with some semblance of grace and dignity.

Anywho, this week I want to continue to look at video technology. In particular, I would like to discuss how the military uses this technology.

Please read the article and give me an opinion. Alternately, you can find your own article on video game technology being used in the military and comment on it. Just please make sure you post the link.

Blog 25 - 3/8/10

Hiya!

So we're switching gears this week. The new topic is . . .

. . . wait for it . . .

. . . video games!!!!! Woooohoooooo!

That, by the way folks, is completely fake enthusiasm. I could not possibly care less about video games, but I have dug up some pretty interesting links for the next few weeks. We will end this section by reading about what it's *really* like to test video games for a living.

So yeah. Video games.

I have no time, no tolerance, and no compulsion to sit for hours in front of a TV or monitor while make believe characters do what I instruct them to do. I am just *barely* continuing to exist in FacebookLand. I simply don't have the time. Not to mention my old reflexes don't serve me as well at they used to. About as close as I'll get to a video game is occasionally taking on a family member in a rousing game of Guitar Hero. Which lasts for about 4 minutes before I'm bored silly.

So take a look at these links about new video game technology, and technology that started out as video games and ended up somewhere else. Tell me what you think about any of these. You are also welcome to talk about other upcoming video game technology, but you MUST post a link supporting your discussion.
