One of the biggest benefits to having a controller (vs. not having one, like the Kinect) is that you do not have to be in front of the camera for the device to track your movements.

Simulator sickness has been one of the biggest barriers holding virtual reality back. People, even after a short period of time of playing a virtual reality game, can experience this type of sickness.

I want one of these so bad! However, it says that it is for developer use only, not for consumer product. I dont know if this means that it is still in a "prototype" stage. Or if it still has some bugs and glitches to work out, so it wont be ideal for a non-professional. Besides this, when it does come to the public market, I will DEFINATLY be in line to get my hands on this. Its taking "being in the game" to a literal standard!

Well, the current Kinect can only track rudimentary motions at best. The next-generation Kinect that's coming out with the Xbox One is far more precise, but Sixense's Rubin claimed that there's no substitute for the precision you get when a controller is actually in contact with your body.

The Oculus Rift is one of the most immersive gadgets. All you need to do is just strap the glasses onto your face and you're transported to a virtual world. you can also help fund PrioVR, a set of sensors that monitor your movements and translate them into a game, with help from the Rift. This product goes with the Kickstarter project Omni by Virtuix which is a treadmill for virtual reality. This keeps you from walking into the wall in your room. I wonder if the author of this article realizes that games are not real. One step in the real world does not have to equal one step in the game (not to mention that lots of games use portals to get around).
