Hey Folks! Thanks for logging in. Let me 'splain how this will work:
Every Monday morning I will post a discussion question relevant to technology. You will have the entire week to post a short blog answering the question. It's very simple . . . you either advance the discussion or you don't. It's either a 100 or a 0. You can also respond to a blog posted by another user to advance the discussion.
Every Sunday evening I will check off names. So you have from Monday AM to Sunday PM. Grading closes at 6pm Sunday. The first five minutes of class on Tuesday and Thursday will be devoted to answering the blog question so that we have a little class time too.
Here are the things that this discussion is NOT:
This is not a social forum. All you guys have MySpace / Facebook for that stuff. Holla at your friends on those sites.
This is not a place for you to ask me questions about your grade. Please remember that EVERYBODY will see all of your communication on this site. If you have questions about grading policies, etc. please see me before or after school, before class or on my conference period (5th). Barring that, please email me at rlanham@nacogdoches.k12.tx.us.
This is not a place for you to air grievances of any kind. Bad language, derogatory comments and intolerance of any kind will not be accepted. These will result in blocked usage for you, and zeros on weekly discussions for the remainder of the year.
What this discussion IS:
This is a place for us to explore how technology is affecting our daily lives. You guys are digital natives (meaning you were practically born with a cell phone in your hand) and you are not accustomed to thinking about life before this technology came along. I would also bet that most of you haven't given a lot of thought to where this technology is going either. Well, that's what I want to do here.
One more thing:
To the best of my knowledge we are the first classroom in the district to use blogging as part of the classroom learning. I have personally invited our Principal and Superintendent to blog with us. All eyes will be watching as this district prepares to incorporate more technology into everyday learning. Please keep that in mind. Let's have fun, but please be responsible.

Technology is used when you listen to music on your cd player or when you are playing games on your playstation two or when playing games on the computer.Technology can be used when you have a cell phone to talk with your friends.

i listen to mi radio everymorin as soon as i wake up then when i come to this class i use technologly by usin the computer i also use computers in 7th period ni listen to music.
I am ready
Computers adds a a lot to my life because i can't live without technology sometimes. Living without a computer, a tv and other technological devices is impossible these days. These videos games are just waste of time. They waste our precious homework time. You don't get any thing by playing them so why play?
Every morning i use my phone as an alarm then it will play music randomly to keep me awake.then i run every morning and listen to my mp3 player while i run.i come to school use a computer for 1 period,then the rest of the day i dont raelly use 2 much technology but my phone.the technology that takes away time is playing my ps2 and watching tv. i usally wait til the last minute 2 do my homework.so i dont use 2 much technology,probably because i dont have 2 much of it.
the technology that they are developing these days is amazing! i have a phone and i have a desk at home.... but my phone cant combine with another to make a larger one and my desk doesnt have a high tech cover that i can watch movies and have meetings in.... before too long i bet i wont even have to wipe my own.....
i think the vaio zoom is the coolest new technology out of all of those choices besides the toast messengers,the touch srceen lab top is so awsome and i want that for my birthday but anyways i think that labtop will make lots of money because touchscreen is alomoct everything now a days and i think that our technology is going to go beyond even the scubba car, so our world is going to be awsome.
i think the new Nokia phone that has the capability of forming buttons on touch screen is pretty amazing.....a phone that has a built in liquid to expand and make a button is something that i never would have thought of for sure..... normally, i would never want to mix any kind of liquid with my phone but now, i think its pretty cool
the new concept technology is amazing. my favorite thing was the nokia phone and the honda bike. those seemed the most high tech things 2 me. if they put the honda bike out in the market just the way its is and it moves and everything. im ganna win the lottery just so i can get it because i know its going to be expensive
