Blog 11 - 11/15/10

Hey do yall mind if we do Yanko one more week?

http://www.yankodesign.com/

This will be the ONLY time when I don't mind you blogging on Tuesday, by the way.

Follow these instructions:
1. Go to Yanko.
2. Go to the bottom of the page and click on the link after the page numbers that says "Inspire Me." Ask your neighbor to help you find it if you can't.
3. Tell me which page you landed on. You may not use the first five pages.
4. Pick a product and tell me WHY you like it or how you think it could change our lives.

I need you to be grown enough to follow directions and I want opinions with reasons!!! If you can't give me that much effort, then I can't give you enough effort to type a 100 in your grade book!

Talk to me . . .

On page 77 there is this growing pot that is pretty cool, the pot grows as the plant does. All though this is cool it is not really life changing unless the could make clothes for people like this as they grow so do their clothes.

I really like the Recon Goggles! (pg.15) It is a futuristic pair of goggles that you would only see in sci-fi movies! It gives you a view of where you are on a map by letting you see your longitude and latitude, it is used for skiing, which I've never done, but the technology would make me try it. I chose this one because it might be a breakthrough for modern technology for just normal actions.

on page 57 there is glowin neon tape which sounds pretty cool. But its really to put on furniture so at night you know where all the corners or potential accidents can occur at night when its really dark. This would so help me by showing me where the table is and not ramming my toe into it!!!!!

Are you tired of jail time or fines whenever you tag a wall or other thing out in the city? This is a notepad with pre-printed clean scenes on paper that you can either plan out what you will do when you see the area, get the urge of tagging the area dealt with, or just practice for the next time that you do bust out the spray paint.. I think that it's pretty cool because it can work with people's artistic ability, and keep people out of jail, if even for just 1 more day.

When i clicked on Inspire me it sent me to page 387 where i found this cool wristwatch called Kronos. The thing that makes this watch so special is that it has a USB Flash Drive built in to the watch for easy storage. The USB is located in the part of the watch where you click it together to put in on. Just attach the flash drive onto the side and you have a stylish wristwatch with and USB flash drive. Thus allowing "the manufacturer to capitalize on the popularity and functionality of a standard USB Flash drive, eliminates consumer pocket clutter, (and) extends traditional usability by adding a practical function."

on page 153 the Arc shower got my attention not only is it design differently then your regualar shower thingy but it is also green the idea of reusing instantly the water could help conserved the lakes our water comes from

johnson, d - 5 said...

i found this on page 364. its a shoe and it doesnt have any shoelaces and instead of you shoving your foot in the shoe if your in a hurry you can just fold the back down and wear it as a sandal or pull the back back up again and wear it as a regualar shoe. and i think it would be good for elderly people because they won have to bend down and tie their shoe. and it would probably be good for little kids too because they wont have to tie the shoe they can just slip it on...

Page 224: the Spykee VOX "personal robot" designed by Cedric Ragot. This legitimate robot responds to its owner's voice commands, and it also has a remote control as an alternative. It has a built-in iDock in its chest, as well as built-in stereo loudspeakers, so it can be a personal DJ robot. It can also move around and avoid obstacles through its "obstacle detector." It also can control other electronic objects remotely and show "emotion" through its LED face-screen. Oh, and it also fires LASERS at intruders or just on command. LASERS. That can harm people (stated by its creator in an interview). Having a personal laser-firing DJ/butler robot would not only make individual's lives more convenient, but they would also make things one heck of a lot cooler.

I landed on page 327 after clicking on inspire me. I though the salt cubes were pretty interesting, because why not add salt into a cube form like sugar. Well i like it because normally people add to much salt so this is supposed to be the perfect amount of salt to add. Maybe it will help our health since the salt will be limited into a cube.

Page 291 The Clip-on Tea Infuser Classier Than A Clip-on Tie. That is just so nifty. I think it could make people who are tea drinkers and have to be on the go's life easier. Let's say they have to wake up, they want something to drink, and then they go to work but don't have time to make tea, well there you go! Just clip that on the side of your glass and you'd be set to go! I think my dad would love that as well because he loves tea and he wouldn't have to sit there and put the tea leaves in the coffee maker (yesss, I know, we supa ghetto) and all he has to do is just clip and drink! :)

pg. 151 Steamy Dishes

I like this product because at my haus I always end up being the one to load the dish washer and the main problem that i always encounter is that i can never fit those huge dishes in the washer they always end up being put aside to be hand washes later. This product cand help me actually get this done and possibly get my dishes done quicker than the actual washer its self. The main concern that i haf is that does it wash the dishes one by one and if so why but this does not adress my one concern i hope i get an answer soon though.

Found on page 126 is the Smart Baby Case. This is a very unique baby carriage which basically cares for your baby the same way a nanny would. I NEED one of these in my house, its a small looking bucket that acts as a dirty clothes hamper. and when it fills up, it AUTOMATICALLY starts the washing cycle no attention needed and then after its all done its auto dries your clothes!!!

NO MORE DIRTY CLOTHES OR OVER EXPENSIVE WASHING MACHINES......

This.Car.Rocks!!!! I landed on page 182 and this transforming car will be next on the market, it's so beast.

It's a compact car, sleek and small for those tough times in traffic, but this car actually transforms. The back of the car is folded up and when you want to carry heavy loads of furniture or plywood you push a button and that is all. It has a compact mode, narrow mode and a pick-up truck mode. The compact mode is for cruising and keeping the car in standby, the narrow mode is to increase maneuverability with a slight tilt in the car in the same way as the simulator. The pick-up truck speaks for itself because you convert the back cartridge of the car into one that fits the style of a truck, letting you load and unload with ease. Im going to get this car no matter what because its design is amazing and will be usable everyday.

On page 350 there are foldable or rolling shelves. Its pretty cool, its basicaly regular shelves but in the middle there are individual pieces of wood connected so they roll. This way if something on the bottom self is too tall to fit you can roll up that section of the self up so it can fit!!!

On page 44 there was this washing machine but this one was diffrent. It was small very samll and could travel anywhere! It does the same thing as a washing machine but takes less space and you could aslo put it agains the wall so it could be the washing machine at home. I like this idea because it would help those in really small places have a washing machine or those who travel a lot. but I wonder if this could hold up as much clothes as a normal house washing machine and if it could be for families. It didnt really say that on the article but now i really want to know.

Anyway, it looks like it would come pretty handy for just cruising around when you don't need to carry anything with you. It's sleek, stylish, and hopefully it can go fast. Although I'd rather have the passenger adjacent to the driver instead of behind.

landed on 107, found a portable printer called the stick pop, which would be extremely handy for people in the business world, or for people like me who don't always have a printer available for use. it's an extremely simple design and is basicall fool-proof, though i'd think that it'd probably be real pricey, though i do think it would be worth that price.

This bottle is the world's first all in one filtration water bottle. You can fill your bottle with water from a dirty lake and get clean water after you filter it. The bottle will kill the bacteria, leaving you drinkable water with no after taste. This product could save many lifes in places where water is scarce.
