Howdy! Thanks for logging in!

This week, let's talk about where video games are going. What do you think will be different in the video gaming world in 5 years? 10 years?

Take a look at this article from USA Today.

Answer my question (above) for credit this week.

I think that in 5 years most if not all of the game relaesed will have kinect or some type of motion sensing devise used with them. And in 10 year i would hope that a new system from someone will have been released (most likely nintendo) and microsoft will have finally killed the Call of Duty franchise.

In five years i believe the games will be more motion games than any other game. like the wii will become more graphical and more intense. And in ten years the games will be more realistic. Like the call of duty game would be surrounding u like in an imax theater. TUTT-1ST

I think that in 5 years that video games will involve the body and excersising more. For example, in the article, it talks about how senior citizens are more fit when they use the Wii fit. I think video games are going to try to brach out to that demographic.

Well if you look at games today its all about the online gaming, so I still think it'll be about the online gaming in 5 to 10 years, but just the way you play the game may change or the way you play online may change as well.

Body motion seems to be the big thing in gaming now so maybe that will become the new big thing or even 3D gaming.

The motion controller things are gaining in popularity, and in five years I figure they will be much more common. However, I don't think they'll be replacing traditional controllers entirely, at least not anytime soon. Maybe almost, in ten years. I don't really see super-futeristic holograms and immersive virtual reality deals happening even in ten years, they will be to cost-prohibitive.

In 5 to 10 years the game will be revolutionized because instead of sitting down with a control the games system will need your body movement to play the game. This makes it healthier for people because they'll be more excirsice than just eating and laying on a couch getting sick and overweight.

In 5 years tha gameing might be the same but with alot better graphics and games. A couple of new systems would probably be introduced. And i think there will be no need for loading anything since the systems are going to be alot faster. In 10 years i expect games to be alot more different than they are now, with alot better 3D effects. Games will take longer to finish and you will probably have to get more involved with the game than what you usually would.

In 5 years the gaming world will i think come out with something big to kill off the old way of gaming. The old controllers will be replaced with movement (Like the Kinet or wii) and voice actitved. I also believe that going to the store and buying games will be a thing of the past. All games will come from the internet and from other gamers sytems.

Later on in life, I can see people playing video games that cover the eyes, like a big pair of glasses and thats how you see the game, and you move to do everything.
I don't play much video games at all, so not really looking forward to anything in particullary except just seeing how technology will be, nothing will be missed for me.

I think 5 to ten years from now video games are going to be more of a daily basic thing in our everyday lives than they are now. I think they will be all motion and voice recognition controlled due to the fact that technology is growing and changing rapidly. I think that regular controllers will be replaced by all this technology.

In about 5 years I think the video game world will slowly begin to remove gamers from their sofas and beds by making games interactive so that gamers can actually experience the game they are playing. In about 10 years I predict that all games will be 3D and virtual. As time evolves so does the technology that we use.

I think in the next 5 to 10 years video games will call for less and less activity from the gamers. As technology evolves more and more the energy needed from the gamers decreases. This is why there are so many lazy people in this world, we need to get people more active in the video games.

In 5 years i think that most if not all video games will be motion controlled and in 10 years i believe that they will have adapted into a sort of virtual, life like expierience which in my opinion is a bad idea because youll get some people more hooked on them and with all the motion interaction, it defeats the purpose of being able to sit and relax and play video games.

I think that five years from games will become more Motion Controlled. The fact that their goal would be to create a more realistic product will also lead to Smarter games. Using them both will help make games 10 years from now (with more features)a better gaming experience overall.

In five years I think that the population of gamers will have risen considerably and will have expanded to include a majority of the older generations. Though I think that the systems won't be changing too much in this time span.
In ten years I think that gaming will be a rapidly growing part of everyday lives and (more of a dream) that it will be heavily meshed with work and school. Like hopping into a virtual world and having to find out how the ecosystem functions. And in the work place you could be finding clever ways of interactivly promoting your product through a realistic D&D style game.

I don't know how much video game technology will change in the years to come, but if it did change, I think the changes would be more like improvements. Like there is already motion games, but they arent always accurate, so I could see this technology getting more precise. And I think way later in the future that video games could be integrated into society in extreme ways. But I hope not. That'd be boring and weird.

Well, from the article, it sounds like we are headed into a much more body censored, wii-like era of gaming. In 5 years, I would predict a combination of the cosul games (xbox) with wii-like games. This would make it seem like you were actually in this virtual world. In 10 years, I would predict the censors to get much more acurate and I could see games replacing actual athletics for many people.

If the direction with which video games are heading in continues, then I feel that within 5 years the gaming industry's growth will be focused more on motion control systems such as the move, wii, and kinect. However, if such advancements continue, I feel that in 10 years we will be so far along that there will hardly be a need for hardware. Everything will be hologram based

i think that in 5 years video games will have evoloved completely, we will not be done with controllers though... not at all the companies still make loads of money on those things. even if microsoft came out with a new system, Xbox woulod still be their top thing because it has the best of both worlds. the controller and also the kinect.

I believe that in ten years they will most likely have have some kind of Kinect device for a certain gaming system. There is a guy who invented a kid's toy that could be used without touchig it. He was using the Force. But other than that, in ten years, if we actually had the technology to do it, some company could make eye contacts that could be used for a certain game of some sort. Gaming companys get more realistic everytime they release a new gaming system. If you have seen games such as Battlefield 3, Syndicate, and Killzone 3, you will notice that it seems like you are almost involved in the game already. I could only imagine what it would be like if they started to develop newer consoles directly tapping into our muscle memory. >:) Goodbye Staff Sargeant...

I think that in five most of these ideas will be in a prototype infant form, but in ten or fifteen they will be coming out. I don't however believe that the actual world and the world of the game will start to mesh. Not that many people play video games regularly now, and the site said that games would start adapting motion sensor, so why would a person whose never played a video game before want to play one that involves even more work?

I think that games are evolving so fast, even this year they're making virtual games like wii and kinect for Xbox 360 that they're already close to making things that can take brain power to do. I think that five years from now, can be more advanced than just better graphics and controls. With how video games are being invented, we could have mind controller devices in the next 3 years. Basically we probably might not even need keyboards for computers soon. They've already made touch screen T.V.'s and computers.

Behind the scenes though i feel as though they will be wanting to develop more and more games like that though and in ten years plenty other systems will be out for that. I do not know how I feel about it just because the games that are like that already aren't that great but hopefully in the future they will be able to make them better

I think that in the next five years video games will become something only the higher class can afford. If people are seriously attempting to make videos on the go and voice activated then there will have to be more technology to be bought and the original gamers may not like that. In 10 years, I think somebody will invent a game where you are actually in the game rather than having a controller in your hand.
