Thanks for logging in!

Continuing our discussion of CES, I want you to go to CNET and pick one of the category winners and tell us why you would use it and you think it's cool. You may also pick a categoy winner and tell us why it's stupid and you would never use it.

So I lookied on the sight and I found something pretty awsome that I want really bad. I want the PCs: HP Envy 14 Spectre sooooo bad. I mean my current labtop and computer are currently being "mean" to me. My "g" and "h" keys are not working on either one, and it really bites for me because I use my computer alot for Facebook and research. Plus, this new computer has a glass lid and a palm rest, how awsome is that. Anyway I want this computer and I'll get it one of these days.

i really really want one of these. the high difinition is amazing at first i thought it would be stupid cause of the way the handles stick to the screen like that but it actually looks cool once you see how to play makes me want one so bad. one thing i dont like about the controler is the style it kinda looks like a janky wii but it looks cool to play

I like LG’s 55 inch OLED TV, because it is designed in 3D. The pictures are brighter and it has a built in mic. I would use it, so I would not have to go to the movies to see 3D pictures. I would get a bigger surround sound and blast it so loud my street, and the two streets on down will be able to hear it. I would stay glued to the tv.

I have to pick the LG OLED Tv because it looks amazing and it would be a great hanging up on the wall of my room. The QNX car 2 moblie apps platform because I think it can cause a distraction for the driver because it looks really cool but I just dont think that it is a very good idea to have in any car that can cause a lot more accidents to happen.

The winner in the green tech category, the Powertrekk (http://ces.cnet.com/8301-33375_1-57356553/powertrekk-powers-your-portable-with-pee-or-water/?tag=mainMedia%3bimageWrapper)would be really useful. I don't camp or go hiking or anything very much, but if I did I would definitely use it. It's a kinda expensive investment, but it's reliable and easy, and if you use a battery powered charger those batteries could die and then you'd be stuck.

I thought that the HP Envy 14 Spectra was kinda stupid... The makers and designers at HP have seemed to successfully continue in the design of the extremely portable as well as the extremely breakable.
Laptops that are covered in glass dont seem like they would be a good idea.

I really liked the Pantech Element from AT&T because first of all it is water resistant. I try not to be a clumsy person but sometimes I can be so the fact that I lknow if it were to accidently fall in water and not fry, makes me happy. I would definitely consider getting one of these especially since i'll be starting college next year.

My favorite is the Razer Project Fiona. I think it has interesting design style that reminds me of a race car sterring wheel, which is why I like it. Its actually kinda big and bulky for a handheld gaming system though.

I picked the Simple.TV because it is so cool insted of having a tv in every room you could just take your ipad with you. I love it you can watch live tv or record things and even download your recorded shows on to your itunes. If they can work out the legal issues this would be like the coolest thing ever.Emily 4th

The "play station Vita" or PSVita is one of the coolest gaming designs i've seen, it has an OLED screen which is far more advanced than its red headed step brother the PSP, it can pick up the Play Station network where ever you are as long as you have a wifi conection. I believe this will change handheld gaming forever.

It's a 3D printer. What could you NOT do with it? While this isn't the first 3D printer, it is the first to use two colors instead of just one. Plus, it can make bigger things. Oh crap, I broke my coathook/earbud keeper/lovable pony figurine! Guess I'll just print up another one :D

I liked the LG 55EM9600 OLED TV, because of it's slim design that makes the tv image look like a extrememly nice picture of something, can't even really tell it's a tv. The graphics are unreal how nice they are, along with the very thin design make it one of my favorite items shown.

Razer's Project Fiona concept gaming tablet looks so stupid. like we need another wawy to play vidio games. i think the design is pretty cool but you know how people tilt the controler thinking somehow it will make the car or player turn that way. well that would kinda suck for this, since the controlers are apart of the screen.

Envy 14 Spectre.
It's made out of glass. Dropping your laptop sucks, but dropping your GLASS laptop while you're, let's say walking around the house barefoot, is a completely different level of "Oh god". Because once that laptop shatters not only have you destroyed a very nice laptop BUT you've also turned your kitchen floor into a mine field of broken glass, and you're right in the middle. To summarize my statement: This is stupid.

I think the Simple TV is a pretty good pick. Being able to watch TV anywhere would be great. Heck. You could make it waterproof and put it in your shower for news...Not that I'd want to anyways.
>.>...<.<...>.<
The only problem I would have with something like this is the connection. If it didn't connect via wireless outside then there would practically be no use for it. (Just buy a freakin TV). I am glad it uses HTML 5. Wireless tech needs HTML 5 browsing. I just hope they kept an "Updates" Feature on it.
PS3 still has not put their web browser in HTML 5...Google will not even work.... (-.-)

I think laptops always have room for upgrade. The 14 spectre laptop is probably the coolest look for a laptop yet. The glass (screen) is larger than any previous and the body is also light and ultra thin. With the trend of small size that everyone seems to loke these days, this laptop is amazing.

I think that the OLED tvs are really cool. The resolution is very nice and the dimensions of the tv are amazing, something that I never thought were possible. However, unless they could be installed directly into your walls, I don't think that I would use one. The depth of the tv is just so small. It seems to fragile to put up on a wall.

This razor gaming tablet would be a good replacement to the laptop gameing wise pluse it's a relief that someone is looking into new gameing devices besides consol or desktop. The only thing that is a little wierd about it is that it kind of looks like the controler for the Wii-U system from Nenteno (which, in my humble opinion, isn't going to do very well).

Emerging Tech Winner: MakerBot Replicator

First of all, I was not even aware that things like this exist. I remember when I was in middle school I got an issue of "National Geographic Kids" that talked about all the upcoming technologies and when they were expected to appear. I was very impressed with the idea of a 3D printer, but I had no idea how that could possibly happen. Now I realize it's not as crazy as I thought it was when I was eleven. I think this technology could be very useful in the future, but it seems pretty primitive at this point, with only two colors and not-great detail. But it's got major potential. The price is also surprisingly affordable. I feel like ten years from now, these 3D printers with be capable of fantastic things and located in many regular homes, and I'm excited about that. Also, I expect I'll probably end up using something like this in my job when I grow up.

The Asus Memo 370T I think is the coolest thing out there and is probably the only thing there that I would want to buy and use. It reminds me mostly of the iPad and the Kindle Fire(mainly the iPad because it resembles a computer more so) but the main difference, and winner in my part, is that it is much smaller. My main problem with the iPad is that it is kind abulky and large, as well as many other pad-like touch screen things. This is much smaller but has all the same, if not better, perks as they have.

The Powertrekk is a technology that I found very useful and beneficial to the environment. First of all, when you can use one of the most abundant resources on the planet to fuel your smaller electronics, it makes powering up that much easier. Also, it's portable. With a moving society like ours, portable things just make life that much greater. Even your pee can be used to fuel it. You might need to be careful and wash your hands well afterwards. Finally, going green is the most important benefit to me. It saves us from using coal or other fossil fuels to power up electricity. With this, we can create a cleaner environment for us, helping our future lives to be healthier.

I love LG's new tv with OLED 3D.
one of the reasons why it makes it so cool would have to be the 4mm- size screen making it the smallest width size tv in the world. One of my concerns would be that since it's size is so small the tv wouldn't react to heavy movement well and crack from not having enough support.
