Howdy!

So, there's this phenomenal nuclear submarine that has been designed and built by the United Kingdom. It cost a boatloaaaaaaaad of money (pun absolutely intended).

Go here. Watch the video. You can watch until you feel informed. You don't have to watch it all, but you're welcome to. Again, thanks to Kyle H. for the pickup.

Will post directives on Wednesday.

Wednesday edit: Give me one FACT from this video that surprised you. Please note, today is not an opinion day.

I was honestly surprised that the submarine took all of 20 years to make. It's interesting how they'd have to predict the technological landscape 2 decades from the time of starting the project.

I was surprised that the nuclear reactor in the submarine will last 25 years and never need refueling.

I was surprised about how it took more than a thousand people to build this amazing submarine. You would think one mastermind could potentially put a piece like this together but no, it took thousands of intellectuals to complete this amazing invention.

Something that surprised me is that the nuclear reactor can work for like 25 years & never needs to be refueled, I've never heard of something that can go so long without being refueled.

It cost the UK one billion pounds and required over 15 years of hard work to get this world class sub up and running, all these huge numbers caught me off guard.

When I thought it would take like 5 years and 50 people at the most.

what really surprised me was the fact that it took so long to make the submarine. I was very interested in how well put together it was and how all the technology was incorporated into the submarine.

I honestly think everything surprised me about that video about how many years it took it design and build it. How it took thousands of people to help build it. How they had to put it on piece by piece. The video was pretty cool to watch and to learn about how they built it.

The fact that surprised me the most was right when they finished it the next day they had work. Like nothing happened there the day before that wasn't like a big deal. I was also surprised the submarine took 14 years to make and design.

I was very surprised when they said the submarine would run for 25 years and not need fuel. Also I couldn't believe when they explained how long it took to build and create this machine which took all of 20 years.

What surprised me is that the the site where the submarines are being built takes up 169 ACRES. Also, that there are a million components the workers had to build in 4 years.

I'm surprised that that they are just now having this kind of technology introduced to the world. And that it took 5000 people to build it and half of them are just apprentices.

The fact that the British are actually pretending that a super-high-tech submarine is necessary for the defense of their nation is surprising. Who wants to attack Britain? Nobody, that's who.

Why do people always call machines by female pronouns I don't understand. Who looks at a car and goes "WOWEE WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MACHINE LET'S CALL HER BEATRICE!"

Anyways!

The fact that the submarine cost more than a billion pounds (which is closer to 2 billion US dollars I'm fairly sure) is utterly shocking. I just... That's ridiculous.
